Orthopedic Fellowship Overview

Program Description

The HealthPartners Orthopedic APC Fellowship is a comprehensive program that offers the APC learner extensive training in Orthopedics through a variety of teaching environments and subspecialties. During the 12-month long program, Fellows will have required rotations in specialty areas essential for proficiency in Orthopedics.

Length of Program: 12 months

Class Size: 1

Annual Starting Date: January

Program Mission

Fellowship training allows APCs to refine their knowledge and skills to successfully integrate into the specialty of Orthopedics at an accelerated rate compared with on-the-job training. Having advanced clinical knowledge and procedural skills provides the APC with confidence and competence as they integrate into his/her career.

Curriculum

Didactic

Each rotation will end with a didactic review.  There will also be didactic opportunities throughout the rotations such as Grand Rounds and Ortho Conferences.  Fellows will be taught critical thinking skills, inter-professional collaboration, clinical competence and business practice.  Through SIM, lecture, Fellow presentations, and journal club, didactic sessions will compliment diverse rotations and hands on experiences.
