Current Application Cycle

• Cardiology: Apply here for a January 2027 start date (flexible)
• Urgent Care: Apply here for a January 2027 start date

The priority application deadline for the above programs is August 21st. After that date, applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.

• Emergency Medicine: Apply here for a March or June 2027 start date

The application deadline is September 15th for Emergency Medicine. Applications will not be accepted after that date.

Program Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• PA or NP degree from an accredited institution
• Certification* by the NCCPA, AANP, or ANCC
• Minnesota licensure or eligibility
• DEA licensure or eligibility

*Program-specific certification requirements for NP candidates:

• PMHNP certification required for psychiatry
• FNP certification required for orthopedics, urgent care, and acute care surgery as these programs include care of pediatric patients
• FNP or AGNP certifications accepted for primary care, cardiology, and neurology
• FNP, AGNP, or ACNP certification accepted for hospital medicine

Note: Students and new graduates may apply, but must be certified and licensed at least 3 months prior to program start date

Desired Qualifications:

We look for candidates who express a strong interest in the specialty they are applying to and a commitment to post-graduate education as a foundational step in their career trajectory. All aspects of an application will be taken into consideration. Courses and rotations that show an applicant’s interest in and ability to excel clinically in a chosen specialty help make someone a more competitive applicant.

  • Personal statement outlining why you are interested in the fellowship program and why you want to start a career in your chosen specialty
  • Unofficial transcript
  • Three professional letters of recommendation
    • • At least one letter must be from a clinical preceptor that personally supervised clinical duties
      • We prefer you submit letters of recommendation with the rest of your application documents, but if your references prefer to submit directly, please instruct them to send to Abby Ward

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary of $74,935 for 12-month program
  • This aligns with the HealthPartners physician residency rate and next annual increase will be in July 2027
• Full medical and dental benefits

• 20 days of PTO and 5 days of CME
• Reimbursement of license and DEA fees

Post-Fellowship Employment

While it is our goal to retain APC fellows upon successful completion of the program, there is no guarantee of employment beyond the fellowship period, nor are graduates required to commit to a position.
