2026-2027 Psychiatry APC Fellow
Hi, my name is Monica. I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a diverse nursing background spanning critical care, hospice, case management, and mental health, including inpatient, residential, outpatient, and telehealth settings. I have also enjoyed teaching pre-licensure nursing students in mental health and community settings. These experiences have further shaped my passion for whole-person care and my interest in improving access to mental health services for underserved populations while reducing stigma and considering the cultural factors that influence how people experience and seek care.
I chose this fellowship to build a strong clinical foundation as I begin my practice and to further develop my ability to consider the full picture of each patient. I also have a longstanding interest in global health and complementary approaches to wellness, including a minor in Integrated Health and Healing. Through travel and study, I have enjoyed learning from different health systems and perspectives on care.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my husband and our two Golden Retrievers and celebrating every season and holiday!
