2026-2027 Hospital Medicine APC Fellow
Originally from Savannah, GA, I attended college and graduate school for public health before returning to nursing school for direct patient care training. I relocated to the Twin Cities in 2013 for my spouse’s job, where I launched my nursing career. For over 12 years, I worked in critical care, specializing in cardiothoracic and surgical/trauma ICU. I’ve worked in clinical education, currently serve as part-time health sciences faculty in Saint Paul, and dabbled in travel nursing on the West Coast and Hawaii before returning to NP school to advance my scope of practice and independence in guiding patient care.
My interest in hospital medicine stems from years of working with critically ill patients. I’ve always been curious where my patients end up after leaving the ICU, and I was drawn to the hospitalist role throughout my NP school rotations. I was captivated by the intellectual stimulation and variety of complex patient cases. My decision to pursue a fellowship in this specialty is driven by my commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care in a protected environment with guided mentorship as I transition into the provider role. My goal is to practice excellent medicine—confidently, efficiently, and compassionately.
Outside of the hospital, you can find me on a quest for the best espresso, scouting the local foodie scene, volunteering at my local food pantry, or attempting to see all 63 U.S. national parks with my husband. Some of my favorite travels have taken me to Ghana, Egypt, and Scandinavia. In winter, I try to stay active with indoor rock climbing. Now that I’ve finished NP school, I’m trying to perfect my gardening skills, stay connected with friends via snail mail, and read more espionage thrillers. Most are unaware, but I play the trumpet and love ‘80s music.
